| 3 | 3 | | recognize Staff Sergeant Shawn Green on the occasion of the |

| 4 | 4 | | statewide commemoration of Wounded Warrior Day at the State |

| 5 | 5 | | Capitol on January 27, 2009; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Wounded Warrior Day is an opportunity for Texans |

| 7 | 7 | | everywhere to be reminded of the valor and dedication to freedom |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | that the members of the United States armed forces have shown on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | behalf of our country; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Shawn Green was injured on March 8, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 2007, while serving our nation in Iraq; a member of the 104th |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Training Division, he exhibited courage and dedication while |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | defending our nation's democratic ideals; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Green was wounded while bravely |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | carrying out his duties in service to our country, and he is truly |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | deserving of recognition for his patriotism and his sacrifice; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby commend Staff Sergeant Shawn Green on his |
