| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Real Estate Councils of Texas, an organization |

| 4 | 4 | | committed to serving the real estate industry in our state; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Organized in September of 2008 and consisting of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | real estate development associations from Austin, Dallas, Fort |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Worth, Houston, and San Antonio, the Real Estate Councils of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Texas will provide a way for these associations to work together |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to monitor and advocate on legislative issues important to the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | industry; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, With a mission of serving as the unified voice of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the real estate development industry in Texas, the Real Estate |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Councils of Texas will work to promote sound public policy and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | educate policymakers on the potential impact of legislative and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | regulatory measures on the industry; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Real estate development is one of the most |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | important industries in the state, providing more than $3.8 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | billion in tax revenue, 1.75 million jobs, and $270.6 billion in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | total economic activity to our state; its essential place in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Texas economy truly warrants having an effective advocacy group |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to address its needs and further its goals; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby recognize the Real Estate Councils of Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and commend this fine organization on its dedication to serving |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the real estate industry in Texas; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 27 | 27 | | this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the |
|---|
