| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The School of Economic, Political and Policy |

| 7 | 7 | | Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas offers outstanding |

| 8 | 8 | | programs in such challenging disciplines as political science, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | public affairs, public policy, and political economy; the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | university has won recognition for its commitment to fostering |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | interest in state government, policy making, and civic |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | responsibility among students in the school's Collegium V Honors |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Program and the McDermott Scholars Program through the Center for |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Study of Texas Politics; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The accomplished young men and women who are |

| 16 | 16 | | currently studying Texas politics and leadership in these |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | programs have demonstrated the impressive drive and commitment |

| 18 | 18 | | that will continue to serve them well beyond their days at The |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | University of Texas at Dallas, and it is indeed appropriate to |

| 20 | 20 | | honor the university and these future leaders of the Lone Star |
