| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Art Perez, who is retiring after 34 years of |

| 4 | 4 | | outstanding service with the Houston Distributing Company; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Art joined the staff at Houston Distributing |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Company after beginning his career in the beer industry at Pearl |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Beer in San Antonio; during his tenure at the Houston |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Distributing Company, he has fulfilled many valuable functions, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | acting as district manager, senior sales manager, and his current |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | position, vice president for special markets; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Art has been known for his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | superior organizational skills and sales expertise; he played a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | major role in his company's sponsorship of such events as Fiestas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Patrias, the Chicano Festival, the Columbian Festival, and other |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cultural events; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Art has invested his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | time and energy in numerous civic, social, and athletic |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | activities; his work with the Rusk Athletic Club, the League of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | United Latin American Citizens, and numerous local sports teams |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has made him an icon in the Hispanic community and a treasured |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | citizen of our state; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary employee and representative for his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | company, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | presence at Houston Distributing Company will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Art Perez for his years of service |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | with the Houston Distributing Company and his many contributions |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to the community and extend to him best wishes for the retirement |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | years ahead; and, be it further |
