5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |

6 | 6 | | citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Salvadore Rios |
---|
7 | 7 | | Hernandez, Sr., who died recently at the age of 80; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Salvadore R. Hernandez was born June 22, 1928, in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Ohio; he served the nation for 20 years in the United States Air |
---|
10 | 10 | | Force, retiring at the rank of technical sergeant; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement from military service, |
---|
12 | 12 | | Mr. Hernandez worked in civil service for many years at Kelly Air |
---|
13 | 13 | | Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base, and Fort Sam Houston; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hernandez was active in numerous civic and |
---|
15 | 15 | | community organizations, taking particular pleasure in his work |
---|
16 | 16 | | with the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio; he was a vital part |
---|
17 | 17 | | of the Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament for nearly 40 years; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, Mr. |
---|
19 | 19 | | Hernandez had an exemplary work ethic and gave unselfishly to |
---|
20 | 20 | | others, and his kindness and generosity will not be forgotten by |
---|
21 | 21 | | those who knew him; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and |
---|
23 | 23 | | grandfather, and his family and friends will continue to live |
---|
24 | 24 | | with the cherished memories of his life and his many |
---|
25 | 25 | | accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
---|
26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |

28 | 28 | | family of Salvadore Rios Hernandez, Sr.: his loving wife of 50 |

29 | 29 | | years, Frances M. Hernandez; his daughters and sons-in-law, |

30 | 30 | | Esperanza and Carlos Rodriguez, Consuelo and Armando Hernandez, |
---|
31 | 31 | | and Margarita and Kent Martinez; his sons and daughter-in-law, |

32 | 32 | | Salvadore M. Hernandez, Jr., Steven and Velma Hernandez, and |

33 | 33 | | Daniel Hernandez; his brothers, Jesus, Alex, Ruben, and Ricardo |
