SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Cori Harbour of El Paso, who is president-elect of the Texas Young Lawyers Association for 2008 to 2009; and WHEREAS, Cori Harbour, of the Harbour Law Firm in El Paso, has served on the board of directors of the Texas Young Lawyers Association since 2003; her term as president will run from June of 2009 through May of 2010; and WHEREAS, She earned a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University; she is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the El Paso Bar Foundation, and she is licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico; and WHEREAS, An active leader in her community, Cori is immediate past president of the Planned Parenthood Center of El Paso and a mentor in the Positive Role Model program in El Paso; she has been an instructor at The University of Texas at El Paso since 2002; and WHEREAS, She most recently served as vice president for the Texas Young Lawyers Association and president-elect of the El Paso Bar Association, and she is well known for her exceptional talents, her diligence, and her resourcefulness; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby congratulate Cori Harbour on being named president-elect of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
