| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Colleyville and Grapevine in mourning the loss of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Mike Rambo, who died March 22, 2008, at the age of 52; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mike Rambo was born July 28, 1955, in Bryan; he |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | earned a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University and a master's degree in computer engineering from The |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | University of Texas at Arlington; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Mr. Rambo was respected in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the community for his many achievements and his spirit of public |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | service; he coached soccer and basketball for many years, and he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | was an avid supporter of the L. D. Bell High School marching band; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rambo was a passionate advocate for the Boy |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Scouts of America, serving as a scoutmaster and holding numerous |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | positions in the organization; his extensive knowledge of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | woodcraft and wildlife benefited innumerable Boy Scouts; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rambo enjoyed a productive professional |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | career at McKesson Corporation; in 2006, the company bestowed on |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | him its Neil Harlan Award for community service; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A man of strength and compassion, he gave |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and unending |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | curiosity about the world around him will continue to inspire |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | those who knew him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | friends of Mike Rambo; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
