| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Clarence A. Johnson for his exemplary efforts in |

| 4 | 4 | | support of education in San Antonio through his work with the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Heroes and Heritage Educational Summit; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson is Principal Director and Director |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | for Civilian Equal Employment Opportunity in the Office of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity at the United States |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Department of Defense; based at the Pentagon, he is responsible |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | for developing equal opportunity policies and programs affecting |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | all civilian employees of the Department of Defense; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson served our nation for many years as an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | officer on active duty in the United States Air Force; he held |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | many positions of responsibility, including C141 navigator, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | squadron commander, and group commander, and he earned many |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | commendations for his service, including the Defense Superior |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Legion of Merit, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson has worked tirelessly to foster |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | cooperation between community organizations and students so that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | those students might receive the internships and jobs that will |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | advance their education and their careers; he is truly deserving |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of recognition for his dedication to furthering the cause of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | education in our country; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Clarence A. Johnson on his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | dedication to equal opportunity for all students and extend to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | him best wishes for continued success in all his future |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
