| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize PediPlace on the occasion of the organization's 15th |

| 4 | 4 | | anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, PediPlace is a nonprofit pediatric clinic that |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | provides quality health care for children who have no access to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | health care services due to economic, geographic, or cultural |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | barriers; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1994, PediPlace has served |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | more than 40,000 children, largely from low-income families, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | residing in Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, and Collin Counties; in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 2008, more than 4,500 children were seen on nearly 19,000 office |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | visits; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The success of PediPlace is a testament to the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | outstanding leadership of its board of directors, including |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | president Linda Burney-Fuhr, vice president Lynn Benjamin, vice |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | president Paula Wagner, treasurer Larry Smith, secretary Becky |

| 18 | 18 | | Kerbow, member-at-large Cary Wigington, immediate past president |

| 19 | 19 | | Barbie Barta, board members the Reverend Dr. John Allen, Shane |

| 26 | 26 | | of Commerce members held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 15, |

| 27 | 27 | | 2009, and the Flower Mound and Lewisville Chambers of Commerce |

| 28 | 28 | | held a Business Night Out; on March 26, the founders of |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | PediPlace, Dr. Mark Holt and Dr. Darla Kincaid, are being honored |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | for their exceptional work at a gala dinner at Celebrations; now, |

| 31 | 31 | | therefore, be it |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the founders and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | staff of PediPlace and to all in the community who help support |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | this invaluable health care clinic; and, be it further |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
