                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 486
 In Memory
 of
 Matthew Wayne Virgel
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Greenville in mourning the loss of Matthew Wayne
 Virgel, who died March 15, 2009, at the age of 22; and
 WHEREAS, Matthew was born August 14, 1986; he was a devout
 Christian who dedicated his life to the God he loved; at the time
 of his death, he was surrounded by family members and his devoted
 fiance, Lauren Ragsdale; and
 WHEREAS, Matthew was an exemplary young man who was
 respected by his fellow worshippers and by the community for his
 deep commitment to his faith and for his accomplishments; he was
 a man of integrity and strength who faced his battle with cancer
 courageously; and
 WHEREAS, Matthew was an inspiration to those who knew him
 and was beloved by his family and friends, and he leaves behind
 memories that will be deeply treasured by all who were privileged
 to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Matthew Wayne Virgel: his parents, Terry and Vicki
 Virgel and Shaunda and Joe Knight; his brothers and sisters, Jodi
 Virgel, Lynn Knight, Joey Knight, Lacey Kendall, and Brian
 Virgel; his grandparents, Joann and Dean Harrison, Jackie and
 Mary Boles, Pete and Patricia Virgel, and Bob and Jimmie Fulton;
 and his great-grandparents, Imogene Boles, Homer Blevins, Doug
 and Glenn Martin, and Martha Harrison; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
 day, it do so in memory of Matthew Virgel.
