| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Operating under the auspices of the United States |

| 7 | 7 | | Department of Defense, the Employer Support of the Guard and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Reserve works to gain support from businesses whose employees |

| 9 | 9 | | have been called into active military service by the National |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Guard or the Reserves; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The organization's Prominence Award is a new award |

| 12 | 12 | | recognizing employers who have previously received Employer |

| 13 | 13 | | Support of the Guard and Reserve's highest awards and continue to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | provide outstanding support for their Guard and Reserve |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | employees; in 2006, Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway |

| 16 | 16 | | received the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award, the highest |

| 17 | 17 | | national Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve award for |

| 18 | 18 | | employers; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The brave men and women of the National Guard and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Reserves and their families make extraordinary sacrifices in |

| 21 | 21 | | order to keep our country safe from harm, and by continuing its |

| 22 | 22 | | commitment to its employees who choose to serve, Burlington |

| 23 | 23 | | Northern and Santa Fe Railway is truly deserving of this |

| 24 | 24 | | prestigious award; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
