| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Northside Independent School District on the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | occasion of its 60th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Northside Independent School District traces |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | its roots to 1949, when a number of small rural school districts |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | serving grades one through eight came together to form the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Northside Consolidated Common School District Number One; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | through the years, the district has continued to grow and serve |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | an ever-expanding student population; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Northside Independent School District has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | been a vital part of the community as it has prepared countless |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | students for their lives as productive members of our society; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The district has prepared for the challenges of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the future by recently implementing a five-year strategic plan, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | which will guide its direction through 2013; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, With new classrooms being added to existing |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | schools and new campuses opening every year, the Northside |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Independent School District is poised to meet the increasing |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | needs of the district's residents and continue its long tradition |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of excellence in education; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Northside Independent School |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | District on 60 years of high-quality education and extend best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes for continued success in teaching the students of the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | district; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the district as an expression of high regard from the Texas |
|---|
