| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the State of Texas has |

| 3 | 3 | | maintained a commitment to the principle of private property |

| 4 | 4 | | rights, and since its creation in 1920, the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | REALTORS and its members have supported this vital principle; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Each day, REALTORS provide valuable professional |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | services that enable their fellow Texans to buy, sell, lease, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | develop, and manage real estate in a knowledgeable and confident |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | manner, while helping to preserve the free enterprise system and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the right to own real property; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Texas REALTORS have worked |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | diligently within the regulatory process to promote and raise |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | their business practices, and the term "REALTOR" has come to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | stand for competence, fairness, and integrity; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The more than 80,000 members of the Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Association of REALTORS have consistently supported responsible |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | government as well as the entrepreneurial spirit that is the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | backbone of our state's economy, and its members are indeed |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | worthy of special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 31, 2009, as REALTOR |

| 22 | 22 | | Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to members of the Texas Association of REALTORS visiting on this |

| 24 | 24 | | day; and, be it further |
