SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 566
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Pastor Robert L. Nichols, Jr., on the grand occasion of
his birthday on April 5, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Nichols serves as senior pastor of The
River of Life Church in DeSoto; the church was established in
September of 1998; after serving the citizens of Mesquite and
Garland for six years, the church relocated to DeSoto in August
of 2004; and
WHEREAS, Under the outstanding leadership of Pastor
Nichols, the church has provided enlightenment and support to the
DeSoto community, and it is one of the fastest-growing churches
in the city; and
WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others,
this beloved pastor has devoted his time and energy unselfishly
to the members of his church and area residents; and
WHEREAS, He is a dynamic preacher and teacher who is highly
respected by his congregation and by his colleagues in the
ministry, and the celebration of his birthday is an excellent
opportunity to recognize his exceptional leadership and his
dedication to his mission; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby join the members of The River of Life Church
in commending Pastor Robert L. Nichols, Jr., for his outstanding
service in the ministry and extend best wishes to him on the
joyous occasion of his birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
