| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Pastor Robert L. Nichols, Jr., on the grand occasion of |

| 4 | 4 | | his birthday on April 5, 2009; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Nichols serves as senior pastor of The |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | River of Life Church in DeSoto; the church was established in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | September of 1998; after serving the citizens of Mesquite and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Garland for six years, the church relocated to DeSoto in August |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of 2004; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Under the outstanding leadership of Pastor |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Nichols, the church has provided enlightenment and support to the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | DeSoto community, and it is one of the fastest-growing churches |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in the city; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | this beloved pastor has devoted his time and energy unselfishly |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to the members of his church and area residents; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, He is a dynamic preacher and teacher who is highly |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | respected by his congregation and by his colleagues in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | ministry, and the celebration of his birthday is an excellent |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | opportunity to recognize his exceptional leadership and his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | dedication to his mission; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby join the members of The River of Life Church |

| 24 | 24 | | in commending Pastor Robert L. Nichols, Jr., for his outstanding |

| 25 | 25 | | service in the ministry and extend best wishes to him on the |
