                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 60
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Terrell Heritage Jubilee Cook-off as a Texas State
 BBQ Championship competition; and
 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the nationally recognized Terrell
 Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, the 28th Annual Terrell
 Heritage Jubilee Cook-off will be held in beautiful Terrell,
 Texas, from April 17 through 19, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, The first Terrell Heritage Jubilee was held in
 1981; the annual event includes a carnival, a rodeo, arts and
 crafts, a quilt show, a health fair and business exposition, a
 car show, a motorcycle rally, a 5K run, a book sale, and a dog
 show, as well as the barbecue cook-off, which is sanctioned by
 the International Barbecue Cookers Association; and
 WHEREAS, The Terrell Heritage Jubilee, coinciding with the
 cook-off, has attracted approximately 15,000 visitors to Terrell
 every year for more than two decades; and
 WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
 over the years, Terrell Heritage Jubilee cooks have provided
 superior cuisine, satisfying the most discriminating of palates;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the 28th Annual Terrell
 Heritage Jubilee Cook-off and extend best wishes to all
 associated with the event; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 this special occasion as an expression of high regard from the
 Texas Senate.
