| 4 | 4 | | University--Commerce, who has been named a 2009 Daktronics |

| 5 | 5 | | Division II Women's Basketball First-Team All-American by the |

| 6 | 6 | | College Sports Information Directors of America; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Britney collected All-American honors for the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | last three seasons, but this year is her first year to be named to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the first team; she is the first woman basketball player in the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | history of the school's program to earn this distinguished honor; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She led the nation in points scored per game with |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | an average of 31.3 and led the Lone Star Conference with a total |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of 909 points for the season; she helped Texas A&M--Commerce end |

| 15 | 15 | | the season with an 18-11 record and a spot in the Lone Star |

| 16 | 16 | | Conference tournament for the fifth consecutive year; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Her numerous awards include three Lone Star |

| 18 | 18 | | Conference North Division First-Team honors, consecutive |

| 19 | 19 | | Daktronics All-South Central Region First-Team and Women's |

| 20 | 20 | | Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American |

| 21 | 21 | | recognition for the years 2007 through 2009; and |

| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, She was named the Woman's Basketball Coaches |

| 23 | 23 | | Association Division II player of the month for January, was |

| 24 | 24 | | selected the Lone Star Conference player of the week on five |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occasions, and was named Lone Star Conference North Division |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Player of the Year; throughout her career in basketball, she has |

| 27 | 27 | | demonstrated outstanding talent and perseverance in attaining |

| 28 | 28 | | the goals she sets for herself; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby commend Britney Jordan for her many |

| 31 | 31 | | accomplishments as an athlete and congratulate her on being named |
