| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the citizens of the Town of Sunnyvale in celebrating |

| 4 | 4 | | February 17, 2009, as Sunnyvale Day at the Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Located 15 miles east of downtown Dallas, |

| 6 | 6 | | Sunnyvale is situated on 10,384 acres of rolling plains and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | offers the amenities of city life and the charm of country life; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The town is bordered on the north and west by the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | suburbs of Mesquite and Garland, where fine restaurants, shops, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and entertainment establishments abound; it also borders the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | sprawling, pastoral land of Kaufman County and the serene waters |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of Lake Ray Hubbard; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Lake Ray Hubbard, a 22,745-acre reservoir, forms |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | a natural boundary to the east, and recreational activities on |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the lake include sailing and bass fishing; recreational |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | facilities in the town include parks, tennis courts, and a hike |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and bike trail; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Town of Sunnyvale is a vital community, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | its residents look forward to a bright future; now, therefore, be |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of the Town of Sunnyvale |

| 25 | 25 | | wishes for an enjoyable Sunnyvale Day at the Capitol; and, be it |
