| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Bob Bullock Scholars Program of Baylor University |

| 4 | 4 | | and this year's participants; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2000 to honor the memory of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, this exemplary program promotes |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the study of politics by Baylor University students; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each student in the program works for a member of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the House or Senate on a full-time basis during the legislative |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | session to learn firsthand about the political structure of Texas |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | government; the Bob Bullock Scholars Program is a model for those |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | who seek to serve others through a career in public service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. James A. Curry, the Bob Bullock Professor of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Public Policy and Administration at Baylor University, has |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | served as the director of the program since its inception; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ten Bob Bullock Scholars are participating in the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 2009 session of the Texas Legislature: Kimberly Blum, Erica |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Gibbs, Charles Goff, Daisy Marchena, Zach Page, Chelsea Reilly, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Amanda Speer, Kelsi Wade, Chase Weber, and Melissa Yeakley; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Baylor University's Bob |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Bullock Scholars Program and commend this year's scholars for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | their participation in their state's governmental process; and, |
|---|
