| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Houston Community College on the occasion of the |

| 4 | 4 | | dedication of its Missouri City Campus on May 26, 2009; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The 45,000-square-foot academic center is located |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | at 5855 Sienna Springs Way and Sienna Parkway in Missouri City |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and is the cornerstone of a 50-acre master-planned site; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The new, state-of-the-art educational facility |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | can accommodate more than 2,000 students in its 22 classrooms, 13 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | lecture rooms, seven multipurpose rooms, and a science |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | laboratory; the center will also house student services and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | faculty offices; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Houston Community College is offering a full |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | compliment of undergraduate and continuing education classes to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the residents of Missouri City and Fort Bend County and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | collaborating with the community to provide a joint library |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | facility; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Members of the board of trustees, the faculty, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the administration of Houston Community College have shown their |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | commitment to providing the residents of Missouri City and Fort |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Bend County with a high-quality educational facility, and they |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | are to be commended for their efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate all those associated with |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Houston Community College on the grand opening of the Missouri |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | City Campus and extend best wishes to all for a wonderful |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | dedication ceremony; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared to |
