| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Coppell Independent School District on the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | occasion of its 50th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Coppell Independent School District was created |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | in 1959 by a vote of local citizens; throughout the years, the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | district has provided exceptional service and professional |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | instruction reflecting a steadfast commitment to educating |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | students on an academic, social, and physical level; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The district has grown steadily since its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | inception and now encompasses 15 campuses serving nearly 10,000 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students at nine elementary schools, three middle schools, two |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | high schools, and an alternative campus; the district's second |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | high school, New Tech High, opened in 2008 and uses a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 21st-century collaborative and project-based learning model; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The district works hard to ensure that its |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | students achieve personal success, develop strong moral |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | character, and become dynamic and productive citizens through an |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | innovative learning system led by a creative and involved faculty |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and staff, and the excellent school system in Coppell has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | contributed greatly to the city's growth and its residents' |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | quality of life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Coppell Independent School |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | District for 50 years of educational excellence and extend best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes for a memorable 50th anniversary celebration; and, be it |
