SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 709
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Living Faith Worship Center in Elgin on the
occasion of the grand opening of its place of worship on April 25,
2009; and
WHEREAS, On Sunday, April 26, 2009, the church will
celebrate its second anniversary; the Living Faith Worship
Center began on April 15, 2007, with a service at the Holiday Inn
in Elgin with seven persons in attendance; the church next met in
the banquet room at the 3H Cattle Company; and
WHEREAS, Shortly after celebrating their first anniversary
as a congregation, members of the Living Faith Worship Center
purchased a tract of land in Elgin, and construction soon began
for new worship facilities; and
WHEREAS, In the meantime, the Great Commission Christian
Center had been meeting since 2004 in various locations around
the City of Austin and expanding its ministry; by February of
2009, the two congregations joined their efforts and began
meeting as one body named Living Faith Worship Center; and
WHEREAS, The Living Faith Worship Center ministers
faithfully to the spiritual needs of many Christians, and it
continues to grow and to undertake many worthy projects; the
grand opening of its new place of worship is a reflection of its
enduring commitment to its holy mission; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby congratulate the laity and clergy of Living
Faith Worship Center on the grand opening of its new facilities
and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
commemoration of this special day.
