SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 715 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Paul Hernandez on the occasion of his retirement from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after 27 years of loyal service to the state; and WHEREAS, Paul Hernandez is retiring from the comptroller's office on April 30, 2009, as a tax auditor with the Houston South Audit Office, where he began working in January of 1994; and WHEREAS, He began his career with the state as an auditor with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission on September 1, 1982; the experience he gained in that position proved to be valuable in his work as a tax auditor at the Houston South Audit Office; in addition to his work on mixed beverage gross receipts audits, he has audited petrochemical companies, which represent some of the state's largest and most complex taxpayers; and WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure with the state, Paul has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication, and he has been noted for his superior organizational skills and accounting expertise; and WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts, and his presence in the Houston South Audit Office will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Paul Hernandez on his exceptional service and his many contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
