SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 720 In Memory of James Nelson Orozco WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of James Nelson Orozco, who died April 21, 2009, at the age of 69; and WHEREAS, Jimmy Orozco was born August 1, 1939, in San Antonio; he graduated from Brackenridge High School and served his state and country in the Texas Air National Guard; and WHEREAS, He was an exemplary gentleman and was respected for his many accomplishments; known for his integrity, strong character, and generosity, he was an avid outdoorsman and will be remembered for his great sense of humor; and WHEREAS, He was a devout Christian who lived his faith in his daily life, and he was a member of the Helotes Independent Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, Jimmy Orozco was beloved by his family and many friends and he leaves behind memories that will be deeply treasured by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of James Nelson Orozco: his wife, Joy Orozco; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen Smith and Larry; his son, Daren Orozco; his sister, Yvonne Santos; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Travis, Austin, Hunter, and Darcy; and his great-grandson, Alexander; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jimmy Orozco.
