2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

3 | 3 | | recognize James Langford on the occasion of his retirement from |

4 | 4 | | the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies in Waco as vice |

5 | 5 | | president of compliance, regulatory and government affairs; and |

6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, He began his career with Texas Farm Bureau |
---|
7 | 7 | | Insurance Companies as a management trainee in its policy |
---|
8 | 8 | | services department and subsequently held a variety of |
---|
9 | 9 | | management positions; and |
---|
10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Langford earned a bachelor of business |
---|
11 | 11 | | administration degree from Baylor University in 1968 with a |
---|
12 | 12 | | double major in management and marketing; he continued his |
---|
13 | 13 | | education by earning designation as a chartered property |
---|
14 | 14 | | casualty underwriter, an associate in management, an associate |
---|
15 | 15 | | in reinsurance, and a certificate of completion in insurance |
---|
16 | 16 | | regulation; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, He is chair of the Texas Windstorm Insurance |
---|
18 | 18 | | Association and the Texas Fair Plan Association; he previously |
---|
19 | 19 | | held executive positions with the Southwestern Insurance |
---|
20 | 20 | | Information Service, the Texas Property and Casualty Insurance |
---|
21 | 21 | | Guaranty Association, and the Insurance Council of Texas; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, He chaired the executive committee of the Texas |
---|
23 | 23 | | Market Assistance Program and served as president of the Heart of |
---|
24 | 24 | | Texas Chapter of the Society of Chartered Property and Casualty |
---|
25 | 25 | | Underwriters and the Association of Fire and Casualty Companies |
---|
26 | 26 | | in Texas; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The recipient of the Raymond Mauk Leadership |
---|
28 | 28 | | Award, James Langford earned the admiration and respect of his |
---|
29 | 29 | | colleagues in the insurance industry and of all those with whom |
---|
30 | 30 | | he has worked; now, therefore, be it |
---|
31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
---|
32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby commend James Langford for his leadership |
---|
33 | 33 | | and outstanding work in the insurance industry and extend to him |
---|
34 | 34 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
