11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 721
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize James Langford on the occasion of his retirement from
44 the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies in Waco as vice
55 president of compliance, regulatory and government affairs; and
66 WHEREAS, He began his career with Texas Farm Bureau
77 Insurance Companies as a management trainee in its policy
88 services department and subsequently held a variety of
99 management positions; and
1010 WHEREAS, Mr. Langford earned a bachelor of business
1111 administration degree from Baylor University in 1968 with a
1212 double major in management and marketing; he continued his
1313 education by earning designation as a chartered property
1414 casualty underwriter, an associate in management, an associate
1515 in reinsurance, and a certificate of completion in insurance
1616 regulation; and
1717 WHEREAS, He is chair of the Texas Windstorm Insurance
1818 Association and the Texas Fair Plan Association; he previously
1919 held executive positions with the Southwestern Insurance
2020 Information Service, the Texas Property and Casualty Insurance
2121 Guaranty Association, and the Insurance Council of Texas; and
2222 WHEREAS, He chaired the executive committee of the Texas
2323 Market Assistance Program and served as president of the Heart of
2424 Texas Chapter of the Society of Chartered Property and Casualty
2525 Underwriters and the Association of Fire and Casualty Companies
2626 in Texas; and
2727 WHEREAS, The recipient of the Raymond Mauk Leadership
2828 Award, James Langford earned the admiration and respect of his
2929 colleagues in the insurance industry and of all those with whom
3030 he has worked; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
3232 Legislature, hereby commend James Langford for his leadership
3333 and outstanding work in the insurance industry and extend to him
3434 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3535 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3636 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
