| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Janise Jackson for earning a Girl Scout Gold Award; |

| 4 | 4 | | this fine young woman is being presented the coveted award by the |

| 5 | 5 | | Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas on May 17, 2009; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Few receive this distinguished award, the highest |

| 7 | 7 | | level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award, |

| 9 | 9 | | girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and gain |

| 10 | 10 | | skills that will contribute to their future success; and |

| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Janise has displayed leadership by designing and |

| 12 | 12 | | conducting a service project that will have a positive and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | lasting effect on her community; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Janise has brought |

| 15 | 15 | | great honor to herself, her family, her community, and her state, |

| 16 | 16 | | and she deserves recognition for her accomplishment; now, |
