SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 759
WHEREAS, The birth of a baby is one of the most treasured
events in the life of a couple; and
WHEREAS, January 27, 2009, will be a day long remembered
and cherished by Joanna and Drexell Owusu, for on that day their
son, Maxwell Arch Kwasi Owusu, was born; and
WHEREAS, The handsome baby boy was born at 11:55 a.m.; he
weighed seven pounds 13 ounces and measured 20.5 inches; and
WHEREAS, Maxwell's safe arrival is the fulfillment of his
parents' dearest wish; Joanna and Drexell are filled with joy
over this long-awaited infant, who has found a permanent place in
their hearts; and
WHEREAS, Joining Joanna and Drexell in welcoming this new
little boy into their family are his grandparents, Adrienne and
Bill McFarland and Doris and Josh Owusu, and his
great-grandmothers, Burch Dille and Margaret Adjaye; and his big
brother, Miles Reel Kofi Owusu; his doting family is happily
preparing to show him their boundless and unconditional love; and
WHEREAS, This blessed event has brought great pride and
happiness to Maxwell's family, and it is indeed appropriate that
the Texas Senate welcome this new little Texan as a treasured
citizen of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby congratulate Joanna and Drexell Owusu on the
birth of their precious child and extend best wishes for the
future to Maxwell Arch Kwasi Owusu; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the family as an expression of best wishes from the Texas Senate.
