| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program and |

| 4 | 4 | | the recipients of the 2009 Excellence in Education Awards; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Created in 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in |

| 6 | 6 | | Education Awards were established to honor outstanding public |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | school professionals and to thank them for their dedication and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | commitment; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, H-E-B seeks to pay tribute to those educators and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | administrators who go the extra mile each and every day to serve |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their students and their communities and who inspire others to do |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the same; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Excellence in Education Awards are designed |

| 14 | 14 | | to recognize educators who demonstrate exceptional commitment to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | student achievement by developing innovative programs, by |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | bringing about increased parental and community involvement, or |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | by creating professional development opportunities; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The Excellence in Education Awards are proud to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | recognize the outstanding efforts of Texas educators who are |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | building the future of Texas by educating our next generation of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | leaders; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend H-E-B on its worthy program and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | congratulate the educators who have been selected as the 2009 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recipients of the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards and extend |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to all best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
