| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Fidel R. Nuez |

| 3 | 3 | | and Manuela V. Nuez placed great faith and trust in the future, |

| 4 | 4 | | and they have been amply rewarded, as they recently celebrated |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | their 58th wedding anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Fidel R. Nuez and Manuela V. Nuez married on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | April 12, 1951, in Edinburg, Texas; the world has changed |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | considerably during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Nuez continue to cherish traditional family values; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | love and affection as together they have experienced the joys and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | sorrows of everyday living; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Nuez have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | wonderful family; their children, Francisco, Arcilia, Robert, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Joe, Ruben, Delores, and Yolanda, and their 12 grandchildren and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 12 great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Nuez worked more than 30 years for the City |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of Houston, which honored him with numerous awards for his hard |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | work and dedication; Mrs. Nuez drove a bus for the Houston |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Independent School District for a number of years, and her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | ability as a seamstress, dressmaker, and beautician have kept her |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | skills in demand through the years; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Fidel and Manuela |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Nuez is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Fidel and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Manuela Nuez on their 58th wedding anniversary; and, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
