| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas State Society of |

| 4 | 4 | | the Sons of the American Revolution; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter was chartered by both the |

| 6 | 6 | | state and national societies of the Sons of the American |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Revolution in 1930 on Patriots Day, April 19, the anniversary of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the battles of Lexington and Concord; this year the chapter is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | celebrating its 79th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Sons of the American Revolution is a society |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that was formed to honor the ideals, principles, and liberties |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | held fast by our nation's founding fathers; it is a historical, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | educational, and patriotic nonprofit organization; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The San Antonio Chapter seeks to perpetuate the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | stories of the patriotism, courage, and sacrifice of those who |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | fought for the independence of the American people and to inspire |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | today's citizens and succeeding generations to pay homage to our |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | nation's beginnings and the spirit of democracy; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution for its work |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in fostering patriotism and public awareness of our nation's |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | history and founding principles and extend best wishes to its |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | members on the occasion of the chapter's 79th anniversary; and, |
