| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. The heading to Chapter 3503, Special District |

| 11 | 11 | | Local Laws Code, is amended to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | CHAPTER 3503. TEXAMERICAS CENTER [RED RIVER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY] |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 2. Section 3503.001(1), Special District Local Laws |

| 14 | 14 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

| 15 | 15 | | (1) "Authority" means the TexAmericas Center [Red |

| 16 | 16 | | River Redevelopment Authority]. |

| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 3. Subchapter C, Chapter 3503, Special District |

| 18 | 18 | | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 3503.110 to read as |

| 19 | 19 | | follows: |

| 20 | 20 | | Sec. 3503.110. ASSUMED NAME. The authority may conduct |

| 21 | 21 | | business under an assumed name by filing an assumed name |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | certificate under Subchapter C, Chapter 71, Business & Commerce |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Code, and complying with that chapter in the same manner as an |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | incorporated business. |

| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 4. Section 9601.005(a), Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

| 27 | 27 | | (a) The district is composed of the following members: |

| 28 | 28 | | (1) the City of Annona; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (2) the City of Avery; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (3) the City of DeKalb; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (4) the City of Hooks; |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (5) the City of Maud; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (6) the City of New Boston; |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (7) the City of Texarkana, Texas; |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (8) the City of Wake Village; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | (9) the TexAmericas Center [Red River Redevelopment |

| 37 | 37 | | Authority]. |

| 38 | 38 | | SECTION 5. Section 9601.006(a), Special District Local Laws |

| 40 | 40 | | (a) The territory of the district is composed of all the |

| 42 | 42 | | (1) the cities of Annona, Avery, DeKalb, Hooks, Maud, |

| 43 | 43 | | New Boston, Texarkana, Texas, and Wake Village; and |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | (2) the TexAmericas Center [Red River Redevelopment |

| 45 | 45 | | Authority], the boundaries of which are described by Section |

| 46 | 46 | | 3503.004, including territory that has been or may be added under |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | Section 3503.005. |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | SECTION 6. Section 3503.153, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | Code, is repealed. |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | SECTION 7. A reference in law to the Red River Redevelopment |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | Authority means the TexAmericas Center. |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | SECTION 8. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 55 | 55 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
