99 relating to combination resident hunting and fishing licenses for
1010 military personnel.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 50.001, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1313 amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
1414 (c-1) The commission shall waive the fee for a qualified
1515 disabled veteran as defined by Section 42.012 or a resident who
1616 holds a valid military identification card and is on active duty in
1717 the United States military forces or is actively participating in
1818 the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, or the
1919 Texas State Guard under the rules established by the adjutant
2020 general of the state military forces. For the purposes of this
2121 section, a valid military identification card issued by the Texas
2222 Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, or the Texas
2323 State Guard is sufficient to establish residency in this state.
2424 This subsection does not apply to a person who is retired from the
2525 military or the dependent of military personnel unless the person
2626 otherwise qualifies as provided by this subsection.
2727 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2828 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2929 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3030 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3131 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
