The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to protective orders for victims of stalking offenses and would render the hearsay statement of a child (a person under 14 years of age) admissible for purposes of obtaining a sexual assault victim's protective order, under certain conditions. To the extent the bill would amend court procedures, no significant impact on judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the state is anticipated. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
