| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 469.003(c), Government Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (c) The standards adopted under this chapter do not apply to | |
| 14 | 14 | a [place used primarily for religious rituals within a] building or | |
| 15 | 15 | facility owned, operated, or controlled by [of] a religious | |
| 16 | 16 | organization or entity controlled by a religious organization, | |
| 17 | 17 | including a place of worship, as referenced in Section 307, | |
| 18 | 18 | Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. Section | |
| 19 | 19 | 12187). | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
