A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the funding of scholarships by license fees.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 57, Occupations Code, is amended by
adding Section 57.003 to read as follows:
Sec. 57.003. FEES DEDICATED TO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS. A fee
collected from a license holder to fund a scholarship program may be
used only for the purpose of funding the scholarship program.
SECTION 2. Section 57.003, Occupations Code, as added by
this Act, applies only to a fee collected on or after the effective
date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
