 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the exchange of certain state property in Brazoria
 County by the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  (a) Not later than December 31, 2011, the Texas
 Board of Criminal Justice shall exchange the real property
 described by Subsection (d) of this section.
 (b)  The Texas Board of Criminal Justice shall exchange the
 property as provided by Section 496.0021, Government Code. The
 General Land Office shall negotiate and close a transaction
 involving the real property described by this section on behalf of
 the board using the procedures under Section 31.158, Natural
 Resources Code.
 (c)  The property must be exchanged for other real property
 with an equivalent fair market value.
 (d)  The Texas Board of Criminal Justice shall exchange the
 real property described as follows:
 Approximately 2,200 acres, more or less, being part of that 2682
 acre tract or parcel of land conveyed to the Prison Commission of
 the State of Texas as recorded in Book 145, Page 307 of the Deed
 Records Brazoria County, Texas, said 2,200 acres, more or less,
 being out of the Stephen Richardson League, Abstract 122 and the
 William Harris League, Abstract 71 in Brazoria County, Texas near
 Angleton, Texas, bounded by the Brazos River to the West, the
 southern boundary being the northern boundary of a tract of parcel
 of land conveyed to The Dow Chemical Company as recorded as Volume
 453, Page 607 of the Deed Records of Brazoria County, Texas and
 bounded on the north and east by the remainder of the called 2682
 acre tract or parcel of land.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
