1010 relating to adding certain synthetic compounds to Penalty Group 2
1111 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 481.103, Health and Safety Code, is
1414 amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (c) to
1515 read as follows:
1616 (a) Penalty Group 2 consists of:
1717 (1) any quantity of the following hallucinogenic
1818 substances, their salts, isomers, and salts of isomers, unless
1919 specifically excepted, if the existence of these salts, isomers,
2020 and salts of isomers is possible within the specific chemical
2121 designation:
2222 alpha-ethyltryptamine;
2323 alpha-methyltryptamine;
2424 4-bromo-2, 5-dimethoxyamphetamine (some trade or
2525 other names: 4-bromo-2, 5-dimethoxy-alpha-methylphenethylamine;
2626 4-bromo-2, 5-DMA);
2727 4-bromo-2, 5-dimethoxyphenethylamine;
2828 Bufotenine (some trade and other names: 3-(beta-
2929 Dimethylaminoethyl)-5-hydroxyindole; 3-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)- 5-
3030 indolol; N, N-dimethylserotonin; 5-hydroxy-N, N-

126126 Fenethylline and its salts;
127127 Lisdexamfetamine, including its salts, isomers,

129129 Mecloqualone and its salts;

144144 2-aminopropanal by substitution at the 1-position with any
145145 monocyclic or fused-polycyclic ring system, including:
146146 (A) compounds further modified by:
147147 (i) substitution in the ring system to any
148148 extent (including alkyl, alkoxy, alkylenedioxy, haloalkyl, or
149149 halide substituents), whether or not further substituted in the
150150 ring system by other substituents;
151151 (ii) substitution at the 3-position with an
152152 alkyl substituent; or
153153 (iii) substitution at the 2-amino nitrogen
154154 atom with alkyl or dialkyl groups, or inclusion of the 2-amino
155155 nitrogen atom in a cyclic structure; and
156156 (B) by example, compounds such as:
157157 4-Methylmethcathinone (Also known as
158158 Mephedrone);
159159 3,4-Dimethylmethcathinone (Also known as
160160 3,4-DMMC);
161161 3-Fluoromethcathinone (Also known as 3-FMC);
162162 4-Fluoromethcathinone (Also known as
163163 Flephedrone);
164164 3,4-Methylenedioxy-N-methylcathinone (Also
165165 known as Methylone);
166166 3,4-Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (Also known
167167 as MDPV);
168168 alpha-Pyrrolidinopentiophenone (Also known

170170 Naphthylpyrovalerone (Also known as
