 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to funding for inspection of meat and poultry.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 433, Health and Safety
 Code, is amended by adding Section 433.036 to read as follows:
 Sec. 433.036.  COOPERATIVE INSPECTION AGREEMENTS. Funds
 paid to the state from the United States Department of Agriculture
 through a cooperative inspection agreement between this state and
 the federal government under the Federal Meat Inspection Act (21
 U.S.C. Section 601 et seq.) or the Poultry Products Inspection Act
 (21 U.S.C. Section 451 et seq.) may be appropriated only to, and
 must be used by, the Department of State Health Services to fund the
 program operated under the cooperative inspection agreement.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
