A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the issuance of specialty license plates for county
officials.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 504.4051 to read as follows:
Sec. 504.4051. COUNTY OFFICIALS. (a) In this section,
"county official" means:
(1) a county commissioner;
(2) a sheriff;
(3) a county tax assessor-collector;
(4) a justice of the peace; or
(5) a county clerk.
(b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
county officials. The license plates must include the words "County
Official."
(c) The fee for issuance of the license plates is $40.
(d) A person may be issued three sets of license plates
under this section.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
