                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 28, 2011      TO: Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2560 by Sheffield (Relating to transporting a foster child in a vehicle where a handgun is in the possession of a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would prohibit the Department of Family and Protective Services from prohibiting the foster parent of a child who resides in a family home from transporting the child in a vehicle where a handgun is present under certain circumstances.  The agency indicates any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
