10	10	relating to the administration of district courts in Bexar County.
11	11	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
12	12	SECTION 1. Section 24.139, Government Code, is amended by
13	13	amending Subsections (b), (d), and (e) and adding Subsection (e-1)
14	14	to read as follows:
15	15	(b) This section applies to the 37th, 45th, 57th, 73rd,
16	16	131st, 144th, 150th, 166th, 175th, 186th, 187th, 224th, 225th,
17	17	226th, 227th, 285th, 288th, 289th, [and] 290th, 379th, 386th,
18	18	399th, 407th, 408th, 436th, 437th, and 438th district courts in
19	19	Bexar County.
20	20	(d) The 144th, 175th, 186th, 187th, 226th, 227th, 289th,
21	21	[and] 290th, 379th, 399th, and 437th district courts shall give
22	22	preference to criminal cases. The terms of those courts begin on
23	23	the first Mondays in January and July. Each term continues until
24	24	the court has disposed of the business for that term.
25	25	(e) The terms of the 37th, 45th, 57th, 73rd, 131st, 150th,
26	26	166th, 224th, 225th, 285th, [and] 288th, 407th, 408th, and 438th
27	27	district courts begin on the first Mondays in January and July.
28	28	(e-1) The 386th and 436th district courts shall give
29	29	preference to juvenile matters under Title 3, Family Code. The
30	30	terms of those courts begin on the first Mondays in July and
31	31	January. Each term continues until the court has disposed of the
32	32	business for that term.
33	33	SECTION 2. Section 24.466(b), Government Code, is amended
34	34	to read as follows:
35	35	(b) The 289th District Court shall give primary preference
36	36	to juvenile matters [cases and proceedings] under Title [2,] 3, [or
37	37	5,] Family Code, and secondary preference to criminal cases.
38	38	SECTION 3. Section 24.531(b), Government Code, is amended
39	39	to read as follows:
40	40	(b) The 386th District Court shall give preference to
41	41	juvenile matters under Title 3, Family Code.
42	42	SECTION 4. Section 24.580(b), Government Code, is amended
43	43	to read as follows:
44	44	(b) The 436th District Court shall give preference to
45	45	juvenile matters under Title 3, Family Code.
46	46	SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
