7	7	AN ACT
8	8	relating to the designation of certain highways as part of the
9	9	Purple Heart Trail.
10	10	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
11	11	SECTION 1. Sections 225.0225(a) and (c), Transportation
12	12	Code, are amended to read as follows:
13	13	(a) The following highways are designated as [part of
14	14	Interstate Highway 35 located in Texas is] the Texas portion of the
15	15	national Purple Heart Trail:
16	16	(1) the part of Interstate Highway 35 located in
17	17	Texas;
18	18	(2) the part of Interstate Highway 40 located in
19	19	Texas;
20	20	(3) the part of Interstate Highway 37 from Interstate
21	21	Highway 35 to U.S. Highway 77;
22	22	(4) the part of U.S. Highway 77 from Interstate
23	23	Highway 37 to State Highway 100;
24	24	(5) State Highway 100; and
25	25	(6) Park Road 100.
26	26	(c) The department shall erect a marker at locations [each
27	27	end of the highway and at intermediate sites] along the trail
28	28	[highway] that the department determines are appropriate. [The
29	29	intermediate sites may not be farther apart than 100 miles.]
30	30	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
31	31	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
32	32	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
33	33	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
34	34	Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
