66 AN ACT
77 relating to the authority of the Travis County Healthcare District
88 to make capital or financial contributions to charitable
99 organizations.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 281.0565(d), Health and Safety Code, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 (d) A district created in a county with a population of more
1414 than 800,000 that was not included in the boundaries of a hospital
1515 district before September 1, 2003, may make a capital or other
1616 financial contribution to:
1717 (1) a charitable organization created by the district
1818 to provide regional administration and delivery of health care
1919 services to or for the district; or
2020 (2) a charitable organization for the support of
2121 medical, dental, or clinical education, training, or research
2222 occurring within the district for the purpose of delivery of health
2323 care services to or for the district.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
