77 relating to the appointment of a bailiff for the 196th District
88 Court.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 53.002(a), Government Code, is amended
1111 to read as follows:
1212 (a) The judges of the 34th, 86th, 130th, 142nd, 196th,
1313 238th, 318th, 355th, and 385th district courts may each appoint a
1414 bailiff.
1515 SECTION 2. Section 53.009(b), Government Code, is amended
1616 to read as follows:
1717 (b) Each bailiff appointed by a judge of the 142nd, 196th,
1818 238th, 318th, or 385th district court is entitled to receive from
1919 each county in which the court sits the amount of compensation set
2020 by the judge in an amount that does not exceed the salary of the
2121 chief deputy sheriff of the county. The judge shall give each
2222 commissioners court in the district written notification of the
2323 amount of compensation to be paid by the county.
2424 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
