                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 26, 2011      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Transportation      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3269 by Callegari (Relating to certain grants awarded under the new technology research and development program), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to clarify that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) may include grants for studies on traffic control signalization through the New Technology Research and Development program.  Based on the analysis of TCEQ, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
