11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 387.005(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
13 | 13 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (a) Grants awarded under this chapter shall be directed |
---|
15 | 15 | | toward a balanced mix of: |
---|
16 | 16 | | (1) retrofit and add-on technologies and other |
---|
17 | 17 | | advanced technologies, including traffic-control signalization |
---|
18 | 18 | | technologies and programs, that reduce emissions from the existing |
---|
19 | 19 | | stock of engines and vehicles targeted by the Texas emissions |
---|
20 | 20 | | reduction plan, provided that the technologies do not significantly |
---|
21 | 21 | | reduce the fuel economy of those engines and vehicles; |
---|
22 | 22 | | (2) advanced technologies for new engines and vehicles |
---|
23 | 23 | | that produce very-low or zero emissions of oxides of nitrogen, |
---|
24 | 24 | | including stationary and mobile fuel cells; |
---|
25 | 25 | | (3) advanced technologies for reducing oxides of |
---|
26 | 26 | | nitrogen and other emissions from stationary sources; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | (4) field validation of innovative technologies that: |
---|
28 | 28 | | (A) reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen and |
---|
29 | 29 | | other emissions; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | (B) require demonstration of viability for full |
---|
31 | 31 | | commercial acceptance. |
---|
32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
