 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to restrictions on written reports required to be provided
by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 7.060, Education Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
 (c) In addition to the requirements otherwise prescribed by
this section, the commissioner shall adopt policies that result in
a reduction of at least 25 percent each, for school districts and
open-enrollment charter schools, in the total amount of written
reports required by the agency to be prepared, as determined in
comparison to the total amount of written reports required to be
prepared by each of those entities during the 2010-2011 school
year. The policies must be implemented as soon as practicable, but
not later than the 2012-2013 school year. This subsection expires
 September 1, 2013.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
