13 | 13 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
14 | 14 | SECTION 1. Section 107.004, Family Code, is amended by | |
15 | 15 | adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: | |
16 | 16 | (d-1) A meeting required by Subsection (d) must take place: | |
17 | 17 | (1) a sufficient time before the hearing to allow the | |
18 | 18 | attorney ad litem to prepare for the hearing in accordance with the | |
19 | 19 | child's expressed objectives of representation; and | |
20 | 20 | (2) in a private setting that allows for confidential | |
21 | 21 | communications between the attorney ad litem and the child or | |
22 | 22 | individual with whom the child ordinarily resides, as applicable. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | |
