99 AN ACT
1010 relating to establishing a child care advisory committee to advise
1111 the Texas Facilities Commission.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 663.051, Government Code, is reenacted
1414 and amended to read as follows:
1515 Sec. 663.051. ADVISORY COMMITTEE. (a) The commission
1616 shall appoint a child care advisory committee composed of
1717 individuals who are interested in child care services for state
1818 employees.
1919 (b) The commission may appoint to the committee:
2020 (1) the executive directors of:
2121 (A) the commission; and
2222 (B) the Texas Department of Housing and Community
2323 Affairs;
2424 (2) two representatives of nonprofit organizations
2525 involved with the delivery or support of child care services;
2626 (3) [a representative of the corporate child
2727 development fund;
2828 [(4)] a representative of child care providers;
2929 (4) [(5)] one or more state employees subject to the
3030 state classification plan:
3131 (A) each of whom has at least one child in a child
3232 care facility; and
3333 (B) if more than one is appointed, each of whom
3434 resides in a different geographic area of the state; and
3535 (5) [(6)] one or more individuals knowledgeable in
3636 child care services or the need of working individuals for child
3737 care services.
3838 (c) The committee shall advise the commission on the:
3939 (1) location, size, and design of the child care
4040 facilities; and
4141 (2) curriculum a child care facility must provide to
4242 ensure the provision of developmentally appropriate services of a
4343 high quality.
4444 (d) The committee is abolished and this section expires
4545 September 1, 2021.
4646 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
