The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to authorize the Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW) Commission to increase the amount of service fee collected and retained by an agent offering a Boater Education Class. Statutory amounts for service fees retained by agents are currently $3, and to the extent the TPW Commission, in the regular course of business, authorized an increase in fees agents may retain, no fiscal implication to the state is anticipated. The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives two-thirds the vote of all members in both houses. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
